    Default The 870

I have a Remington 870 express 12 ga, this is my everything shotgun for the time being. I will have a short barreled Mossberg shortly but for now the 870 is my go to shotgun. Will still cover all my hunting applications from yotes to dove. With the amount of after market parts you can really make the 870 into whatever you want. You can make a great bird gun out of it or swap the barrel slap a shell holder on it and have a tactical set up for home defense. What you can do with this shotgun is endless. Lets see or hear about yours. I'd post pics of mine but I don't have any right now.

The nicest thing about the 870 (and 500) is the quality for dollar value. It is unbeatable for the price and reliability.

It's just like cars. The popular ones are the cheap ones that will go fast with the right work. And the 870 and the 500 are in that category in my mind. I would like to get an 870 to soup up but my uncle gave me the one I have right now, so it will remain untouched and stock.

BC, that is the nice thing about them. Most of the modifications are not permanent. Bolt on and unbolt. Its not like the original configuration can never be had again. One gun can fill so many roles with a minimum of parts.

They are also youth versatile. I just sent one in 20 ga. home w/ my Grandson when he was down here at Thanksgiving. It was my first pump, & I have also used it for every bird flying from Dove to quail, ducks & Sandhill crane. Change the barrel out & they will rifle a great slug for deer.
I have never used your descirption it truely is the everything gun.
    Carry 24-7 or guess right.

I am leaning toward the Mossberg 590, I don't know if you can change the barrel out like the 870. Does anyone?
    I guess not.....
