    Default .44 Mag

    So after shooting Dcortez's .44mag S&W , and Dr. No's .454 Casuul Raging bull. I have come to the conclusion I NEED a .44 Mag, S&W is too rich for my paycheck, I really liked the raging bull, and in .44mag seen em for 500 on gun broker. As much as I like ruger, I dont like the looks of there wheel guns. They look like a snub nosed with a longer barrel crammed through the snub.
    Opinions?

    I'll take a look at Thor's at the next meet. i really liked the raging bull at the SA meet.

    I would recommend finding a used S&W. I personally just don't like Taurus. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.

    I like my taurus 9mm, goes bang every time, I heard Mo say the S&Ws werent all that great. I believe he wrecked a couple IIRC.

    he wrecked two S&W 629's with loads that were designed only to be shot in ruger super blackhawk's and super redhawks...

    i.e. REALLY hot powder charge and heavy bullets

    under normal to heavy loads they are fine... we just acquired 2 of them a competitor 629 and a performance center 629... one has the slab side barrel with the adjustable counter weights, and the other is ported with the rib from the bottom of the barrel at the muzzle to the cylinder

    and just picked up a 686 with a ported barrel (.357) 6''


    smiths (used) are just fine, just stick with the loads they were designed to perform with

    The Performance Center model in the center picture comes with two sets, the wood like pic one and the Hogue like pic two. I have that gun and love it. Well worth waiting for and worth the extra money.
