Well I can change it between hot and cold but that's it. The control panel for the climate controls in my pathfinder seem to be working fine so I'm thinking it's something in the dash. Any ideas or help with what this could be?![]()

Mmm wonder if it is a vacuum controlled flapper? Or is it manual? This would be how the ducts aka flaps change to different blower options for the climate control system. IE defroster/ floor, mid level etc. Could be a vacuum leak or the rod broken or disconnected.
Could be a bad relay. If the relay is stuck in the on position, that would happen. Check in your fuse panel and see if there is a relay for the ac/ heater or blower motor. If there is, pull it and see if it stops. That doesn't necessarily mean the relay is bad, but it is cheap and easy to replace. You could even swap it for a different relay in the fuse box to test it.

Sorry guys I left out some info that could help. LOL It's a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder and when you turn the climate control panel off or turn the ac off it start blowing threw the defrost vents. I'll check the relay tonight and see if that helps. I disconnected the battery last night and that didn't help anything. Thanks for the help guys.
A/C?? Is the clutch on the compressor still turning? Or is it a control vent issue? Sounds like something might have fallen down the defrost vent and jammed the door open, like a pen? Happens more often than you think. MG
I believe the defroster is the default setting for the system, because it is a safety issue. We had a vacuum leak on our Excursion, and it would only defrost. But the system would shut off. If a relay is stuck in the "on" position, and it keep running when you turned the switch off. But now it goes to defrost? You may have multiple problems. Check the relays and get back with us.

MadMo made a suggestion earlier that sounded right on. It's acting like there is something stuck, like the fan wont turn off and there is and the defroster is the outlet for when the control panel is off it switches to defrost and when it's on the panel says the fan is going up and down but it's only going full mojo on me so I have to keep changing the setting to different extremes to keep from getting backed or froze! LOL! This is the last jap or chicom car I buy. I mean that. If I would have known that the gas miladge would have been the same in this thing as it was in my rusty ole trucks, I'd have kept my rusty ole trucks! At least I know how to work on those!![]()
Big C that vehicle has a BCM and almost every electrical creature comfort device goes through it. If it shorts is can reek havoc and different parts of the system.
You need a OEM scanner to verify the BCM has failed.
I hope not they are $$$$$

Where is it in the vehicle (dash board, under the hood etc..) and how mutch is it to replace? Can O'Riley's test it for failure?
